Julien LEROY

Violoniste de formation, Julien LEROY entreprend ses études musicales aux conservatoires de la ville de Paris dans la classe de Frédéric PELASSY et obtient, en 2003, un premier prix à l’unanimité en violon et en musique de chambre. Ses études d’harmonie, d’analyse, d’écriture et de culture musicales lui permettent d’obtenir un Diplôme d’Études Musicales de la ville de Paris en juin 2005.
Attiré dès l’âge de quatorze ans par la direction d’orchestre, il s’initie à cette nouvelle discipline au sein de la Fondation Sergiu Celibidache Stiftung München auprès de Konrad von ABEL et poursuit sa formation dans la classe d’Adrian McDonnell au conservatoire de la ville de Paris.
En 2009, Il est lauréat du Young artists conducting program du Centre National des Arts d’Ottawa sous la direction de Pinchas ZUKERMAN et Keneth KIESLER, puis sélectionné à l’Académie du Festival de Verbier dirigé par Kurt MASUR.
Demi-finaliste en 2008 du 8e Concours international de direction d’orchestre Arturo Toscanini à Parme, il remporte l’année suivante « l’ Honorable Mention Award » en terminant second en 2009 du 15e concours international de direction d’orchestre de Tokyo.
En 2002, il a fondé l’Ensemble Orchestral Intermezzo dont il assure la direction musicale et avec lequel il explore de nombreux répertoires.
Son désir de partage avec les plus jeunes l’a naturellement conduit à diriger les orchestres des conservatoires de la ville de Paris. Il assure également depuis 2003 la direction artistique de plusieurs formations au sein des Orchestres de Jeunes Alfred Loewenguth.
Depuis septembre 2006, il est chef adjoint de l’Orchestre de la Cité internationale de Paris auprès d’Adrian MCDONNELL.

Drawn to conducting from the age of fourteen, he began at the Foundation Segiu Celibidache Stiftung München with Konrad von Abel and continued his training with Adrian McDonnell at the conservatory the city of Paris.
In 2002, he founded the Ensemble Orchestral Intermezzo of which he is music director and with which he explores many repertories.
Since 2003 he is also the artistic director of several groups within the Youth Orchestras Alfred Loewenguth.
In September 2006 he became assistant conductor to Adrian McDonnell at the Orchestre de la Cité Internationale in Paris.
In 2009, he was a laureat of the Young Artists Conducting Program of the National Arts Centre in Ottawa under the direction of Kenneth Kiesler and Pinchas Zukerman, and then selected for participation in the Verbier Festival Academy, led by Kurt Masur.
